The Rivers State Government has issued a strong public advisory, cautioning residents against a surge of deceptive announcements being shared across social media platforms. These fabricated statements, falsely linked to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), are designed to sow confusion, trigger panic, and undermine the stability of Rivers State.

One prominent piece of misinformation highlighted by the government is a bogus claim alleging that His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, the suspended Governor of Rivers State, and the Deputy Governor, Prof. Mrs. Ngozi Nma Odu, have been directed to attend a meeting at the Government House on Friday, April 18, 2025.
