Food vendor almost lynched for allegedly using diabolical means to attract customers

A popular food vendor escaped death by the whiskers in the early hours of June 10, when a mob stormed her shop at the popular Suya line, in the Old Port Harcourt Township axis in Rivers State, for allegedly using diabolical means to attract customers.

The mob had gone berserk when news about the woman’s alleged diabolical deeds broke. Some eyewitnesses said the woman who has been in the business for over a decade, purportedly used water she collects from morticians. The water which the morticians had used to wash corpses was reportedly used to prepare meals for unsuspecting customers in a bid to keep them hooked to her meal and also attract more customers.

The woman was saved by the timely arrival of policemen to the scene. Prior to the arrival of Policemen, the mob had destroyed utensils and other items while moving into the shop to possibly execute jungle justice.

The food vendor was however released when investigation revealed that she was unjustly accused.
