People were seen scampering to safety in Port Harcourt Township area, the Rivers State Capital, as some cultists allegedly engaged in a free for all fight that turned bloody. An eyewitness who spoke to Africa Update, said trouble started when two Hausa boys from a different cult group had a faceoff with another Hausa boy over a girl.
They were seem pulling the girl from both sides. The news about their Faceoff spread like wild fire and in a twinkle of an eye, some members of ‘Abuja Ghetto Boys’, and the Northern Community, were engaged in a fierce fight.
The incident which occurred on November I, spread through Creek Road, Bonny Street, Niger Street, Bende Street, Victoria Street, and Aggrey Road, forcing traders and residents to run for their dear lives.
Superintendent of Police (SP), and spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, has however dispelled rumours that people were killed during the fracas.
She assured residents of the commitment of the police to protect lives and properties and reiterated the resolve of the Commissioner of Police, Okon Effiong, to unravel circumstances surrounding the incident, stating further that Security operatives have been deployed to the area, while investigation has commenced.
