The Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Dr. Innocent Barikor, has escaped assassination as gunmen kill his police orderly in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
Africa Update, gathered from multiple sources that Barikor was said to have left his office at the GRA axis of the State on Tuesday night for a meeting in an undisclosed location without knowing that some gunmen were waiting for him outside.
The gunmen reportedly opened fire on sighting Barikor, who escaped death by the whiskers but his police orderly was hit by bullets that killed him on the spot.
