Rivers: Church mourns death of Popular pastor

Lagos, Nigeria — The Carpenter’s Church, a prominent faith community, has announced the passing into glory of its beloved Presiding Pastor, Pastor Mrs. Nkechi Chinyere Ene, describing her transition as a “great loss to the church and the body of Christ at large.”

In an official statement released by the church leadership and signed by Pastor Sola Akinwale, the Commission confirmed that Pastor Ene passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Her passing was sudden, occurring shortly after her return from an extensive and impactful overseas ministry trip, which the statement noted was marked by “miracles and testimonies.”

According to the church, Pastor Ene suffered a sudden health crisis in Lagos almost immediately following her arrival back in Nigeria.

The statement conveyed the profound sense of grief within the congregation: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing into glory of God’s servant, our presiding pastor, our mother-in-Israel, Pastor Nkechi Ene. As our hearts hurt and questions assail our minds, we rest assured in the unwavering truth that God is good and His mercies endure forever.”
