The Spokesman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, Chief Hon. Ogbonna Nwuke, has won the Most Controversial Politician award at the 3rd edition of the Trendsetters Awards on Sunday, August 29.
The Former Lawmaker, who represented the people of Etche and Omuma at the National Assembly, defeated others to clinch the award, becoming the second to win this interesting category, since the Trendsetters Awards started three years ago.
According to the organisers, Senator Magnus Abe, had won this award during the first edition, while no one was controversial enough to win this category when the event held last year.
It was further disclosed that Nwuke came tops due to his strong and sometimes controversial views on political issues within and outside the state.
His vocal and fearless stance, earned him the award, which only a few persons could qualify to be shortlisted as possible winners.
In his reaction, Nwuke, commended the organisers for finding him worthy of receiving the award, noting that as spokesman of APC, he did not set out to be controversial but only stood against policies and actions of government and individuals, that tend to contravene the principle of good governance.
