The remains of the 37th Police Commissioner in Rivers state , late Francis Odesanya, has arrived Nigeria.
Late Odesanya’s remains arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos , at about 5 pm on Saturday aboard an Emirates aircraft from India after a stopover in Dubai.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, the Lagos Airport Police Commissioner, Mrs. Victory Menta and the consignee, Dr. Adegboyega Oke among several other dignitaries and family members were at the airport to receive the corpse .
Odesanya joined the Nigeria Police Force on Feb.2, 1986 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent, and took over the mantle of leadership in Rivers State on July 28, 2016, from Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Mr. Foluso Adebanjo.Â
Briefing newsmen, the spokesman of the Lagos Airport Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr. Alabi, disclosed that the remains of the police boss who died on January 31, 2017 at an Indian hospital where he was receiving treatment was  later deposited at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja immediately it was received at the airport.
