Reacting to a spurious allegation aimed at casting aspersion on the personality of the Africa Action Congress, AAC, Governorship candidate, Engr. Biokpomabo Awara, his Special Assistant on Media, Russell Fred-Ogu, says Emma Okah’s comment is baseless and misguided.
His statements reads: “Our Attention has been drawn to a statement credited to one Mr Emma Okah that Engr. Biokpomabo Awara was Rotimi Amaechi’s driver.
‘We ordinarily wouldn’t have responded to such spurious statement but keeping quiet will make people believe that such lies are true.
‘We want to state clearly here that Engr Biokpomabo Awara, the AAC Governorship Candidate, who until recently was a staff of Chevron, never had any relationship with RT. HON. ROTIMI AMAECHI until Friday March 1st, 2019 ; as such he couldn’t have been a driver to Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
‘It is clear that the frustration suffered by Emma Okah and his cohorts following his inability to successfully subvert the will of Ikwerre people during the just concluded governorship elections is telling hard on him and we sympathize with him
‘The rising popularity of Engr Awara is of no doubt making some persons jittery as expected because they underestimated him.
‘We wish to state categorically that such statement is FALSE and a figment of his imagination inspired by his desperation to cling onto power, as such should be disregarded.
‘We wish to thank the good people of Rivers State for their peaceful disposition during the elections and pray the Almighty God to bless you all’.
