A magistrate court presided over by Justice Amaka Amanze, has thrown 46 years old man, identified as Nwakama Worike, from Rumuji community in Emuoha community in Rivers State, into prison for failure to provide shelter and food for his seven children.
Delivering judgement, Justice Amanze, frowned at Worike’s disposition and lack of remorse, even after the children narrated their sad ordeal in court.
International Federation of Female Lawyers, FIDA, had dragged Worike before the court, following reports received from his children.
Africa Update gathered that the children were abandoned in an uncompleted building infected with snakes, centipedes and earthworms, while assault on their mother by their father had left her bedridden.
