Tragedy struck on June 11, when a popular Niger Delta Band was involved in a fatal accident around Lokoja community in Kogi State. A close source informed Africa Update that the accident occurred in the early hours of yesterday, when Chief Barrister S Smooth’s band was traveling to Abuja for a show.
The source said about seven persons have reportedly died including Sir Joseph Ekeremieye, Ekisima, Ebis Awiki, Tuku (keyboardist), Sololo.
The cause of the accident has not been disclosed but pictures of the accident made available to Africa Update shows a badly rammed vehicle.
According to reports, Barrister Smooth was not in the car at the time of the accident as he had flown to Abuja. He was however rushed to the hospital when news about the accident was broken to him.
