The family of a barber who works at Okoafo, Badagry area, Mr. Gafar Ayoola, 19-year-old has accused Mr. Taye, a police officer attached to Denton Divisional Police Station, Oyingbo, Lagos of alleged murder.
It was gathered that Ayoola was reportedly arrested on Friday on his way to work and detained at the Denton Divisional Police Station, where he was purportedly tortured to death on Saturday.
A source said the victim’s family led by his father Mr. Sulaiman Ayoola had gone to the police station to enquure about the whereabouts of Ayoola but were told by the officer on duty that he was not detained at the station but were surprised that another policeman was allegedly trying to pacify the family on Saturday, that Gafar was rushed to Dunik Hospital at Kano street by Bola in Ebute Metta (East), where he died.
The source further revealed that they were still in the dark and do not know the reason behind Gafar’s arrest. The victim, was a resident of 16, Bridge Road, Otto, Ebute Metta in Lagos Mainland before his death.
