The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command, Â Zaki Ahmed, has debunked rumors linking the police to the accident that led to the death of a pregnant woman and two others at Garrison Junction, in the State Capital.
Addressing newsmen, in his office at Moscow Road today, he said contrary to reports that policemen had engaged the victims in a hot pursuit leading to their untimely death, the police had no knowledge or involvement in the fatal accident .
Recall that a Toyota Camry (big daddy) had yesterday, ran over a commuter at Garrison  before bursting into flames. All occupants including the commuter , who the police authorities say is a pregnant woman, were burnt to ashes.
