Pirates suspected to be members of a militant group in the Niger Delta have released six Turkish members of a cargo vessel conveying liquid chemical fuel to Cameroon whom they kidnapped two weeks ago.
Mr. Fehmi Ulgener lawyer for the shipping firm Kaptanoglu Denizcilik said on Tuesday that the captain of the vessel M/T Puli, chief Engineer, Chief Officer and others were abducted about 90 miles off the coast of Nigeria on April 11 while other crew members were left onboard unharmed.
The victims according to reports are safely back to Istanbul. It was however not stated if any ransom was paid
