The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 issued certificate of return to the gubernatorial flag bearer in Rivers State, Amaopusenibo Siminalayi Fubara among other candidates across the country.
Following the successful conclusion of the historic event in Abuja, the Rivers State standard bearer, Sir Fubara was received in grand style by a mammoth crowd on arrival at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa.
He proceeded to the State Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party where he addressed party faithfuls and expressed gratitude to God and Rivers people for the acceptance and solidarity shown since his emergence. He further applauded other aspirants who had since joined him to advance the cause of the party.
The gubernatorial candidate commended the Rivers State governor, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for his visionary leadership and unwavering support towards his emergence as the PDP flag bearer in the state, promising to consolidate on the legacies of the Wike’s administration.
He called on Rivers people to see the ticket as a collective mandate for the sustenance of the growth and development ongoing in the state, which according to him “will lead to the advancement and prosperity of the people”
Sir Fubara had clinched the PDP gubernatorial ticket, receiving 721 delegate votes cast at the primary election held at the Obi Wali International Conference Centre in Port Harcourt on May 25, 2022.
