About 100 women including widows from Ndiukwuenu community in Orumba North local government area of Anambra State, have threatened to protest nude over over harassment by thugs and policemen in their area.
Africa Update gathered that the women had stormed the state police command, to demand for the immediate release of two of their husbands namely Raymond Egwu, a Catholic catechist and Vincent Nwafor, who were arrested by the police on Friday morning in the community.
One of the protesting women, alleged that they were tear-gassed by men of the state Criminal investigation Department CID, which reportedly made some of them unconscious .
A police source however, denied the claim, but assured that the men who were arrested would be released.
