The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps have confirmed the death of a one-year-old baby as a result of fire incident in Hadejia Local Government Area in Jigawa State.
Spokesman of the command, SC Adamu Shehu, confirmed the incident to DAILY POST.
He explained that the fire incident happened in Yayari quarters on Saturday at about 0134hrs in a residence of one Muhd Rabiu, a Staff of Ministry of Education.
“The fire consumed the life of a year-old-girl and property worth millions of naira,” he said.
Adamu said that the incident took the combined efforts of the NSCDC personnel, men of the Fire Service and good Samaritans to quench the fire.
He said the house was completely razed down and the cause of the inferno is yet to be ascertained at the time of writing this report.
