The All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for the upcoming Ekiti Gubernatorial Elections, Kayode Fayemi narrowly escaped death today after a Mobile Police officer opened fire at the APC Secretariat in Ajilosun area of Ado-Ekiti.
Two members of the Ekiti State chapter of APC, were shot at the party secretariat during a reception organized for the governorship candidate of the party, Dr. Fayemi.
The victims are Mr. Opeyemi Bamidele, a member of the seventh House of Representatives and one other person.
It was reported that the bullet came from the rifle of a mobile policeman who was among those deployed to ensure security.
Mr. Bamidele has been rushed to an unknown hospital for treatment. However, the yet-to-be-identified second victim is said to be dead, while the policeman is currently in custody.
Some other eyewitnesses claim that the MOPOL was fake and he allegedly targeted fayemi.
