A Federal High Court in Rivers State, has fixed February 28, to rule on an application brought before it by Counsel to the former Asari Toru Local Government Council Boss, Ojukaye Flag Amachree, seeking for the release of his international passport to enable him travel abroad for medical attention.
In his submission, Â Counsel to Flag-Amachree , Mr. Sabastine (SAN) said his client was currently due for appendectomy and urged the court to grant his client’s request.
He reiterated that Amachree who is diabetic and hypertensive, needs urgent surgery.
On his part , counsel to the Rivers State Government, Mr. Godwin (SAN) stated that he had confidence that the matter would make progress at the next adjourned date.
The embattled council boss is currently facing fresh two count charge of conspiracy and alleged murder of Mr. Ibinabo Dokubo in Buguma , Asari Toru LGA during April 2015 Governorship election in the state.
He was dragged to court by Rivers State Government, but was not present to take his plea yesterday, for the second time .
His counsel however, presented a medical report, which revealed that Amachree was critically ill.
Presiding Judge , Justice Chiwendu Mworgu adjourned the case to February 23 for the accused person to appear in court to take his plea.
