An array of top administrators, businessmen, politicians, Federal Government Agencies were honoured at this year’s Trendsetters Awards which held on November 20, at the Southern Star Hotels and Towers in Rivers State.
The management of Delvs Services, Publisher of Africa Update newspaper and Springpoint magazine, organizer of the award event, said the decision to reduce the award categories was due to tthe devastating impact of the novel coronavirus.
Gloria Boma Harry, the Chief Executive Officer of Delvs Services told newsmen that her team decided to recognize some individuals and security agencies whose actions and policies aimed at providing essential services to the public, constantly expose their officers to harm including the deadly coronavirus.
She observed that without the selfless services of these patriotic officers, social and economic activities would suffer untold setbacks. She however stressed that the activities of a few officers have in recent times led to some misgivings but the actions of others have led to the creation of the special service award category.
Those who received awards at the second edition of the Trendsetters award, TSA’20, excluding security agencies are as follows: Engr. Tonye David West – Best Administrator, Chief Ogbonna Nwuke- the most influential politician, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim – the best commissioner, Dr. Ipalibo M. Harry – most innovative and pragmatic politician, Chief Chukwuemeka Eze – most controversial, Victor Ken Osunwa,- best upcoming male actor , Mr. Segun Owolabi – most innovative media personality, Bar. Higher King – Best Human Rights Advocate, Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority – Best Federal Government Agency, Chief Festus Ogwuche – Best human rights advocate, Rhythm 93.7fm – Best Radio Station, Petrol Station Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria – Association with best practices, Chief Francis Chilam Dimkpa – Emerging new leader and Chief Chinedu Ukadike- most pragmatic media personality.
