Notice of transfer of remains of Alabo Tonye Graham Douglas released

Family, Associates and organizations have been put on notice concerning the transfer of the remains of Elder Statesman and former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alabo Tonye Graham Douglas, who died in Abuja.

A statement signed by His Highness Anabs Sara-Igbe, reads: NOTICE OF THE TRANSFER OF THE REMAINS OF OUR BELOVED LEADER AND ELDER STATESMAN THE LATE ALABO TONYE OMUBO GRAHAM-DOUGLAS

June 9th 2022 @ 7.30am
Body leaves Abuja Domestic Airport via Max Airline.

8.30am Arrives Port Harcourt Airport. Body received by Family and Organization. Thereafter body will be transported to the Mortuary. Burial Date will be announced by the families in due course.

The following Organizations are expected to receive the body at Port Harcourt Airport by the following:-
A) Pan Niger Delta Forum ( PANDEF )
B) Ijaw National Congress ( INC)
C) Ijaw Youth Council ( IYC )
D) Ijaw- Wari

Alabo Tonye Graham Douglas, fondly called TOG by close Associates, died on 25 April 2022, at a hospital in Abuja, aged 82. TOG, a renowned Nigerian politician was appointed Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture in 1989, then Minister of Aviation in General Ibrahim Babangida’s cabinet.

In 1999, he was appointed Minister of Labour and Productivity, and in 2000, Minister of Tourism in the Olusegun Obasanjo’s cabinet, leaving office in January 2001. He was one of the founding fathers of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and served as a member of the Board of Trustees.
