The charted Institute of Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) in collaboration with the Rivers State multi-door courthouse (RSMDC) has launched the Volunteer mediator scheme (VMS) aimed at supplementing available resources for justice by providing enhanced, cost effective and user-friendly access to justice.
Speaking at the event in Port Harcourt, acting Director of the Rivers State multi-door courthouse, Victor Emeka Nweke Esq., in his address said that the platform will provide enhanced access to justice by providing alternative mechanisms in the resolution of disputes and also minimize frustration and delays in justice delivery.
Similarly, President of the Institute of Charted Mediators and Conciliators Dr. Agada John Elechi who was represented by Dr. Ayibami Fashola said that the institute is focused on delivering quality training and regulation of the practice of ADR in Nigeria.
Dr. Fashola explained that the scheme aims to provide a platform for speedy and cost effective resolution of disputes for the business community as well as domestic and interpersonal conflict.
