Reacting to the NGF’s claim that some governors will not be able to pay the new N30, 000 minimum wage, the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Rivers State has said it is not concerned about the comment of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF).

The chairman of TUC in Rivers State, Austin Jonah said at the right time, labour will embark on a movement against any governor that refuses to pay the new minimum wage.

He said, “We are not worried about Governors’ Forum. Governors’ Forum is not recognized by the Nigerian Constitution. They are not members of the tripartite committee, the tripartite committee have submitted their report. In their report, it is N30,000. When it is time and any governor refuses to pay, workers in this country will mobilize in masses to vote out that governor. So, they will not even have the opportunity to think of sacking any worker”.
