The Acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission. (NDDC) Mrs. Ibim Semenitari has assured citizens of the Niger Delta region and Bayelsa State in particular of the timely completion of the Nembe/Ogbia road despite the killing of 2 soldiers and the kidnap of an expatriate working on the Road on April 5, 2016.
The NDDC Boss gave this assurance when the Amayanabo of Nembe, King Edmund Dakoru visited the Commission.
Work on the road worth over N24b illion which cuts across 14 communities was disrupted following the attack by unknown gunmen.
Mrs. Semenitari said the road would be completed by April 29.
In a related development, The Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, Delta State, Mr. Francis Maku-Eyituoyor, has appealed to the acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC) Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, to ensure resumption of work on the Koko-Ogheye road project abandoned a few years ago.
He said the economic and socio-cultural importance of the road to the council, the state and the nation cannot be ignored.
