After 14 years, all is now set for the inauguration of the Rivers State Chapter of the National Council for Women Societies, NCWS, in Rivers State, according to information available to Africa Update.
In an exclusive chat with the incoming President of NCWS Rivers State Chapter, Princess Marian Tolofari, Africa Update gathered that the proposed Inauguration of the State Executive Council was made possible by the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, who assisted Rivers women to ensure the realization of their desires to have a chapter of NCWS in the State.
Tolofari expressed gratitude to Governor Wike for his magnanimity and support for women. She said Rivers women are excited because NCWS exist in other states of the Nation including the Federal Capital Territory, catering for the wellbeing of women in the Country under the leadership of the National President of NCWS, Dr. Mrs Gloria Laraba Shoda,mni.
She noted that the planned inauguration scheduled to hold at Golden Tulip Hotel, at Ic Evo Crescent, off Evo Road, GRA Phase 2, in Port Harcourt, on Sunday December 19, will herald the beginning of a new vista for women especially the Rivers women.
Others to be inaugurated tomorrow include the following: 1st Vice President – Mrs Bridget Pemi, State Secretary – Barr Ibiso Erekosima Briggs, Isn’t Secretary- Barr Emi Jim George, 2nd Secretary- Hon. Patience Iyeh, 3rd Secretary- Mrs Chikaru Success Jack, State Treasurer- Mrs Julia Owaji-Okiche Erasmus, Financial Secretary- Mrs Rita Jumbo, State PRO- Rebecca Biu, 1st PRO- Hon. Doris Ngofa, 2nd PRO- Mrs Juliet Ayasuk, Research Coordinator – Victoria Suka Timothy, Newsletter Editor -Hon. Gloria Boma Harry.
Legendary Comedian and Rivers Son, Julius Agwu is expected to grace the event alongside other notable Rivers Sons and Daughters.
