MOSOP kicks against planned construction of cemetery, maximum prison in Bori

The Movement For The Survival of The Ogoni People, (MOSOP), has kicked against the planned construction of a maximum prison and modern cemetery at Bori, the headquarters of Khana Local Government Area in Rivers State, by the Federal Government.

The MOSOP President, Legborsi Saro Pyagbara, who spoke through the Publicity Secretary, Fegalo Nsuke, said they have uncovered plots by the Minister of Interior to acquire 41 hectares of land in Boris for the construction of a prison and cemetery.

His words: ” The movement for the survival of the ogoni people, (MOSOP), is highly disappointed that this government can contemplate the setting up of prisons and cemetery for ogoni land.

“Indeed, at a time when we are saying that people are dying by the day and we expect the government to implement the clean up report on ogoni land, it appears what the government is thinking is that the ogoni people should die and there should be cemeteries to bury them.

“We will not accept it. We will stop them because we deserve to be respected as Nigerians”.
