Mr. Ifeanyi Ajaero aged 37, has been transfered to the Anti human trafficking and child labour unit of the State Investigation and Intelligence Department (SIID) for more investigation and prosecution, for assaulting his wife, Mrs. Obiageli Ajaero, whom he chained to a generator for over 24 hours .
Our source disclosed that Operatives from the Sagamu division of the Ogun State Police Command , received information about the incident which occurred at the home of the Ajaero at Ewooluwo – Sagamu in Sagamu Local Government Area of the state.
The Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement said,’ Ifeanyi Ajaero( 37) has been arrested for fastening his wife, Obiageli(28) to a “Generator set till day break after she has been seriously battered.
“The suspect who is a member of the already disbanded merchant Navy used an hand cuff to chain his wife who has become so weak as a result of serious beating from the wicked husband.
“The people in the neighborhood, who has been witnessing frequent beating of the wife by the suspect alerted the police of the latest happening consequent upon which the DPO Shagamu SP Aduroja Moses led his men to the scene, rescued the victim and got the suspect arrested.
” On interrogation, he admitted chaining the woman to generator, but he claimed that his action is for self defence,” he stated.
