The Lawmaker Representing Eleme Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly Oforji Igwe is calling for patience from commuters due to the traffic jam experienced on eleme section of the east west road.
He made the assurance that efforts are on going to ensure ease of movement along the eleme refinery road to evacuate trucks packed by the road side
” I feel very bad today for the condition my constituents are going through today, just to leave Apkajo and get to the main town of eleme, it would take you 4-5 Hrs to get to onne, to even get to onne it would take you 5hrs and trying to pass through the road this morning I felt very bad and disappointed in the way and manner the trucks that are supposed to be well packed and organized for other cars to pass have completely blocked the east west road ; especially the trucks that are supposed to be caring materials from Idoroma Eleme Petrochemical “.
The Lawmaker representing Eleme constituency at the Rivers State House of Assembly RSHA also repeated his call on the federal government put in action towards the construction of the Aleto Bridge which he said is currently not in a good condition.
” Such a bridge that navigates from Rivers State to Awka Ibom and Cross River is not given enough federal attention, that bridge if collapsed, it would stop everyone going to Awka Ibom and Cross River state; so it is important for Federal government to quickly mobilize the contractor that has been awarded the contract to construct the seize of four layered road to go back to site and complete that work for the good people of Rivers State, Awka Ibom and Cross River because it is sited in eleme local government and the council chairman had raised an alarm that with the condition of the bridge, it might collapse in no distant time”
