Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo says the sacrifice made by the Late Joseph Blankson will forever be remembered in the annals of our history.
Dr. Banigo stated this during a condolence visit to Joseph Blankson’s widow by the Deputy Governor’s Widows Outreach Team at Woji Town in Port Harcourt on Monday, 6th August 2018. She said as a mother and a widow herself she understands that Mrs. Blankson was going through a very difficult situation, noting that it was very sad that the young man died in the process of saving other people’s lives and left behind a wife and two children.
She reiterated the efforts of the Rivers State Government ably led by His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike to forestall such accidents through the provision of state of the art infrastructure like roads, bridges and jetties.
In her response Mrs. Mercy Joe Blankson, widow of the deceased thanked the Deputy Governor, the employers of her Late husband, OK Isokariari, as well as family members and friends for their support and encouragement.
The elder brother of the deceased, Mr. Ikronibo Blankson had earlier welcomed the Deputy Governor to late Joseph Blankson’s home and thanked her for her show of love to the Blankson’s family.
The Deputy Governor’s delegation included Uki Asemota, Special Assistant on Research, Mrs. Inegogo Fubara Senior Special Assistant and Mrs. Obuba Georgewill Personal Assistant to the Deputy Governor.
