Lagos State Police Boss says they are battle ready, dares Militants

Following unconfirmed rumour at the weekend that the Niger Delta Militants  would strike  commercial nerve centres such as a police station at Ikorodu and the Third Mainland Bridge, to further make a bold statement about their agitation, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, while fielding questions from reporters,  said the  Department of State Security Services (DSS), military,  and other relevant agencies were working hard to ensure that Lagos State is protected , maintaining that the police and other security agencies are battle-ready to adequately crush any security threat.

It was also revealed that the Marine Unit of the Force has deployed plain clothe detectives across the coastal waters to forestall any breach.

Speaking further on the state of security in Lagos, the police boss expressed worry at the increased rate of murder , rape and armed robbery, citing several instances of how brothers killed themselves over torch light and a drunken husband slit the throat of his wife at Oshodi .

Over 30 suspects including rapists, armed robbery suspects, car snatchers who were arrested within the last one week were paraded.
