Lagos State Police Boss says they are battle ready, dares Militants

Following uncon­firmed rumour at the weekend that the Niger Delta Militants  would strike  commercial nerve cen­tres such as a police station at Ikorodu and the Third Mainland Bridge, to further make a bold statement about their agitation, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, while field­ing questions from reporters,  said the  De­partment of State Secu­rity Services (DSS), military,  and other relevant agencies were working hard to ensure that Lagos State is protected , maintaining that the police and other security agencies are battle-ready to adequately crush any security threat.

It was also revealed that the Marine Unit of the Force has deployed plain clothe detectives across the coastal waters to fore­stall any breach.

Speaking further on the state of security in Lagos, the police boss expressed worry at the increased rate of murder , rape and armed robbery, citing several in­stances of how brothers killed themselves over torch light and a drunk­en husband slit the throat of his wife at Oshodi .

Over 30 suspects in­cluding rapists, armed robbery suspects, car snatchers who were arrested within the last one week were paraded.
