Rivers State chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC has threatened to challenge the legality of the continuous sitting of the Martin Amaewhule-led members of the House of Assembly who are loyal to the former Governor and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
IPAC leader and State Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Solsuema Osaro, who stated this on the sidelines of a meeting with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Port Harcourt was reacting to planned moves by the lawmakers to override the Governor’s power with veto of some bills.
IPAC however passed a vote of confidence on Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his people-oriented projects and signature infrastructural developmental strides in the State.
They have called on Rivers State people to ignore the purported enacted laws made by the Amaewhule-led Assembly to undermine the powers of the Governor.
