Interview:Pastor Eugina speaks on the need for unity among Christians, launches College

Can we meet you?

My name is Pastor Eugenia Daskalapolu-Tarlizou,  I’m Greek by origin and I live in Belgium. The acting President of kiononia  ministry international  founded in 2017 ,Belgium. I am here for Kiononia theological college, it is a non-denominational ministry opened to the body of Christ ; the core business is  unity,  we focus on the unity of the church thereby presenting the platform for  different churches to come together for purpose of spreading the gospel of Christ.

We have an NGO in Uganda where we take care of street Children . We started in Nigeria for some years , we have formally established a centre  here in Port Harcourt as the Kiononia theological College located at No. 8 church road opposite Trinity Catholic church off fimie junction, Abuloma road. Port Harcourt.

The Kionomia theological College is for the body of Christ , it is open to every believer, so that we can come together and seek the knowledge of the Truth.  Kiononia means the  comminion with God and man, fellowship between brethren.

The kiononia theological college is open in this month of August,2019 to teach and train leaders.

Question 1: How can you describe your experience in Nigeria?

Answer : Nigeria is a very beautiful country , I came to Nigeria for the first time in 2007 to teach in a Bible school. Nigeria has great potential , people love God and respond well, especially in port Harcourt where there are many big churches, although there is a lot to build in that area, to teach leaders and also to bring the knowledge of truth.

There is a difference from where I come from in Uganda in terms of needs. Nigeria is like the capital of Africa;  very influential and it is important for the gospel.

Concerning the gospel is to see that leaders get proper education to be shaped for the task. We already started with the Kiononia theological college; which is for leaders and workers in the Church.

Question 2: What is your advise for Christian leaders and soul winners ?

Answer : Thank you for this question and giving me the opportunity , I think it is very important for every leader and soul winner out there to understand what it is about the core mission to win souls, to enlighten the people on the knowledge of truth and how the Bible describes it. The goal is not to build churches or compare ourselves with one another. The goal is to win souls and to question ourselves as leaders as to what I am doing is it scriptural ? if Jesus comes today would he say I am doing what he has started, without been ashamed. Today some of them have deferred from the truth because some of the practices are not really biblical.         We should not mind what people say and we should not be there to please people , preaching  commercial gospel to caress the ears of our people to bring more money, rather the church should preach the sinner as the sinner without any compromise, because leadership comes with a very high standard and responsibility to the people; the Bible says that we are accountable for what we do, because we portray Christ in us with what we do.

Question 3: Lets look at  Muslims, they have oneness irrespective of tribe or background compared to the Christian body where we have different churches with different standards ; whats your view on the matter?

Answer:  As we are approaching the end time more and more, it is important to note that Christ reigned for a united Church. It says in REVELATION, Jesus spoke to Churches of Cities, he didn’t speak to fractions, if the church is fragmented it is also a defeat as Paul taught. It is important to note that we are not called to build our kingdoms but we are called to build a body of Christ as leaders.

Christian leaders need to understand that we have to be united, its not an option, we would not come to where we ought to be unless unity, regardless of our positions whether as Pastors, Prophets , Apostles , Evangelists; you need to be accountable and come out of your throne and make place for Christ to seat on the Throne.

All this atrocities happening that bring shame to us before the people and even the President would be handled properly if the church is united, unity of Faith, unity of Throne. Jesus said ‘they shall be made perfect in one” that the world would know that he sent them and loved them”.

All over the world can people say that these are the people that God loves, it is only on unity. There is no church on its own be it the biggest in your country; they cannot reach the nation alone. This means we have to let Jesus seat on the Throne and have Unity.

When we are united we can handle different issues happening in Nigeria and all around the world. where I come from in Belgium, I served for 20 years with a senior pastor, who pastored the first church in Belgium before I started my own ministry; I remember talking to him , he said his always busy with the church and i told him “please as much as your busy , make out time for the church of Jesus Christ in your city” God told the Israelite to pray for  peace in the city because in its peace you will have also peace”.

When we say we are a body of Christ we should also have peace because we would be blessed that way as most of the issues we are trying to address in our churches would be solved that way. There is no issue we cannot handle in unity , when the church of Jesus comes together we would make impact in our society and have outstanding testimonies.
