Rivers State civil servants have been directed to be present at the State Secretariat on Monday, March 24, 2025, for an official visit by the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral (retd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas.
A government circular, issued by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of Rivers State and obtained by Africa Update mandates all staff to report for duty and prepare their Nominal Rolls for inspection during the administrator’s visit.
“I hereby write to inform you that His Excellency, Vice Admiral (Rtd), Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, Administrator, Rivers State, will be visiting the State Secretariat on Monday 24th March, 2025,” reads the circular, signed by Dr. George C. Nwaeke, Head of the Civil Service.
The circular further instructs, “In light of the above, you are requested to inform ALL your staff to be on duty on the said date. Also make available copies of your Nominal Roll for sighting. Please ensure strict compliance.”
This directive comes at a time of heightened political tension in Rivers State, following President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of emergency rule and the subsequent removal of Governor Siminalayi Fubara from office. The administrator’s visit is expected to be closely monitored amidst the ongoing political developments
