Governor Wike’s N200 million loan: Crisis erupts between Traders, Special duties Commissioner

Some traders in Rivers State are engaged in a war of words with the Commissioner for Special Duties, Emeka Onowu, who they are accusing of embezzlement.

They alleged that the authentic market leaders have been sidelined by Onowu, who they claim is dealing with cronies to misappropriate the said N200 million monthly loan for traders and young entrepreneurs.

The traders in a chat with newsmen, urged Governor Nyesom Wike to deal directly with them, rather than mandate the Commissioner for Special Duties.

Reacting to the allegations, Onowu, debunked claims of misappropriation and embezzlement levelled against him, stating that the Governor was yet to release the funds to his ministry.
