Governor Fubara meets with protesters

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reassured residents of his commitment to improving their living conditions despite the current harsh economic realities that have sparked nationwide protests.

Speaking at the Government House in Port Harcourt yesterday, Governor Fubara addressed a group of #EndBadGovernance protesters, acknowledging their grievances and urging them to remain peaceful. He emphasized that the Federal Government, led by President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is committed to securing a better future for all Nigerians.

Governor Fubara thanked the youths for their peaceful demonstration and stressed the importance of not allowing the protest to be hijacked by disruptive elements. “We know a lot of people are planning to take advantage of this protest to destroy our State. But, we will not allow it,” he asserted.

The Governor assured the protesters that their concerns are being communicated to the Federal Government and encouraged them to support government policies, despite the initial hardships. “Implementing policies, at the beginning, must be harsh, but at the end, everything will be fine,” he explained.

Highlighting his administration’s dedication to good governance, Governor Fubara pledged decisive actions to alleviate economic hardship in the State. “I feel your pain, and we are doing everything to make life easy for our people. We are committed to making hunger disappear very soon,” he said.

His Excellency appealed to residents to be patient with President Tinubu’s policies, assuring them of positive outcomes and continued attention to their basic needs. “If we are patient and tolerant, there is no way the policies will not yield positive results and development for our State,” he concluded.

As the #EndBadGovernance protest continues, Governor Fubara’s message is clear: peace and patience are crucial for overcoming the current economic challenges and achieving a better future for all.
