Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, has taken extra measures to ensure that unauthorized vehicles do not come into the state.
Africa Update reporter who went to some major roads in the state to monitor the compliance to the 24hour lockdown imposed in Port Harcourt City and Obio/Akpo Local Government Areas, saw the construction of barricades along major roads connecting local government areas.
A barricade was seen on the bridge connecting Woji Town to Odili road, while the road linking Abia State to Rivers State has very high gates on both sides of the road.
Some residents have expressed fears that from the look of things, the lockdown might extend longer than expected.
