The Kano State Police Command says investigation into a bloody clash between supporters of former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso and loyalists of his successor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje at a wedding on Sunday has commenced .
Commenting on the incident , the spokesman of the state Police Command, Magaji Musa Majia, said the police will ensure that perpetrators are brought to book.
According to reports, trouble started when an aide to the State Commissioner for Special Duties called Shawuya, reportedly led the attack at about 11:00a.m at the wedding of one of an All Progressives Congress, (APC) member.
No fewer than six persons including an ally of the former governor, Walid Abbas Sanusi, and a stepbrother to Abbas Sanusi, sustained various degrees of injuries ..
Two children of the state commissioner for special duties , Sani Abdullahi Abbas and Abbas Abdulahi Abbas (Jnr), were alleged to have been part of the attackers.
Recall that some supporters of Kwankwaso were attacked a few days ago, at Chiranchi quarters in Gwale Local Council Area.The attack came after a video clip went allegedly asking the governor’s supporters to attack Kwankwaso with stones.
