Friends and associates will have the opportunity to pay their last respect to elder Stateman and political Icon, Alabo Tonye Graham Douglas, OFR, DSSRS, who succumbed to the cold hands of death on 25th April 2022 at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja after a long battle with kidney related complications, as activities to commence the funeral rites of this great ijaw leader begin .

Alabo Tonye Graham-Douglas (8 May 1939 – 25 April 2022) aged 83, was a Nigerian politician who was appointed Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture in 1989, then Minister of Aviation in General Ibrahim Babangida’s cabinet. In 1999, he was appointed Minister of Labour and Productivity, and in 2000, Minister of Tourism in the Olusegun Obasanjo cabinet, leaving office in January 2001. He was the paramount Head of the Da Orubibi Independent War Canoe House in Abonnema, Akuku Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.
A funeral service will hold in his honour on Saturday, September 10, at his hometown in Abonnema. Meanwhile, a social group known as the PH City One Love Family placed an advertorial to commiserate with the bereaved family and also celebrate the great Ijaw son.
