The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Friends and Associates have donated some food stuffs as palliatives to the people of Rivers State to cushion the effects of the stay at home orders as a result of the global pandemic.
The distribution of over twelve thousand bags of rice, and other food items was done on behalf of the friends of the Minister by Green Nigeria Foundation Project, a Non Governmental Organization, NGO.
Indigenes of Ogba /Egbema/ Ndoni, Abua-Odua, Ahoada East, Ahoada West as well as Emohua Local Government Areas of Rivers State, benefited from the pilot program, which will eventually extend to the remaining eighteen local government areas.
You will recall that one of the Associates of the Transportation Minister Chukwudi Dimkpa, who represented the donors, during the presentation of the food items to the President of the Green Nigeria Foundation Project, Pastor Warigbani Ezekiel, had disclosed that the donation of the palliatives became necessary, following the sufferings being experienced by the people during the stay at home orders caused by the closure of markets as well as inflation in prices of food stuffs.
The friends of the Minister urged the NGO to distribute the food items to all and sundry, irrespective of party or religious affiliations
