Contrary to speculations that the sudden sack of the erstwhile acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Joi Nuneh, might be linked to an alleged crack in the relationship between Nunieh and the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the actual reason for her sack has been made public.
The Senior Pastor and founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, on February 20, 2020, during the Thursday service of the Church, with the message, Grace for Supernatural speed, said, Nunieh forgot the fact that the Grace of God kept her where she was and became too arrogant.
Ibiyeomie noted that despite not knowing her, he prayed for her appointment and continuous stay in office, in the face of stiff opposition, but rather than maintaining a respectful stance towards God and the things of God, Nunieh accused him of being a fake man of God.
He stressed that she was disgraced out of office because she questioned his anointing and he called on God who kept her there to remove her before the end of February.
He advised Christians to be mindful of who they become when the grace of God takes them to a position of authority, reiterating that individuals succeed only by the Grace of God.
You will recall that Nunieh took over from Dr Akwagaga Enyia, on October 30, 2019 with the mandate to carry out forensic audit of the commission, following reports of alleged gross mismanagement and fraud by previous management committees.
The three member Interim Management Committee led by Nunieh was reconstituted on February 19, 2020, with the replacement of Nunieh with Prof Kemebradikumo Pondei , while Dr Cairo Ojougboh, Ag. Executive Director (Projects); and Mr Ibanga Bassey Etang, Ag. Executive Director (Finance and Administration) were retained, Mrs Caroline Nagbo (Member); and Cecilia Bukola Akintomide, OON, a former Vice President with African Development Bank, (Member) were added to the team.
President Buhari had earlier approved that the Interim Management Committee would be in place till the forensic audit of the NDDC was concluded.
