Following heavy rains over the weekend, parts of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area have been submerged in flood waters.
The most hit are Eneka and Rumukrwushi communities, where residents have abandoned their homes.
Africa Update gathered that the rain led to the collapse of a bridge around the Rumukrwushi axis of the state and loss of valuables worth several millions.
Residents who spoke with our correspondent, alleged that their situation became worse, when the drainages were blocked by the contractor in charge of the construction of the road.
They expressed displeasure at the fact that the State Governor, Nyesom Wike, could traavel abborad despite the level of damage caused by the flood.
Reiterating that the visit of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Harry-Banigo, can not suffice for the alleged lack of concern on the part of the state government.
