International Diplomacy is what ECOWAS needs in Niger Republic not Military Intervention

Nigeria needs international relation experts to handle the military junters within the Ecowas. Military intervention will backfire as it may amount to disrespect and intrusion into the rights of other Sovereign states.

All nations are Sovereign and deserve respect. Technically speaking the people of Niger Republic are happy with the change of government they have expirenced recently. I made these assertion because I have seen several video clips where the populace of that country are jubilating and showing massive support to the military interventionist.

Though military rule or authoritarian government is outdated in the current world order but Sovereignty belongs to the people.
If the Niger people welcomes the policy trust of their military so be it.
It’s within their Sovereign right to choose or support any leader of their choice.

We must not overbloat our ago as chairman of Ecowas. There’s limit to foreign intervention that is allowed within the concept of boundaries and Sovereignty of other nations.
Carefulness shoud be the watch word in this instance, UN ability to talk Russian Republic out of Ukraine hasn’t be achieved till date despite US and EU full support.

One mistake we mustn’t do is to underestimate the resolve of a people that is determined to be socioeconomically liberated.
Let’s look at Niger Republic with a well calibrated economic and social compass, do we really see that country doing well in terms of GDP and other national growth indicators that can make her citizens happy under previous civilian administrations?
I doubt the objectivity of any aguement to the contrary.
Can any well intended African or Nigerian in particular say that Niger citizens are enjoying dividends of democratic rule. Thousands of Niger citizens are loitering about in Nigeria looking for minior jobs to feed. Some engage in crime to survive hardship within our country.

I make bold to say that if Nigeria has strict immigration policy that is implementable, the social crisis in Niger Republic must have stated long age. I made this assertion because Nigeria has been a great bowel succour for thousands of Niger’s who are socially dislocated and serially violated politically.

( I have had a Frank discussion with a Nigerian of Northern extraction Sokoto precisely who expressed deep anger about how Niger citizens give them Nigerian bad name due to the fact that we from southern part of the country see all of them as Hausas and that we believe they behave alike. While standing in Musa little makeshift kiosk drink water, Musa angrily pointed out over Six Niger citizens passing across his shop and told me that they are involved in stealing and asuch he detest them coming close to this shop.
I probed him more and he was explicit that they are not Nigerian) Those category of Niger citizens are here due to hardship at home.
Some has literally invaded our national interest through well thought out immigration crimes just to run away from hardship occasioned by bad leadership back home.

“I have never seen any sane citizen of a Sovereign nation runing away from his/her country unceremoniously when he or she can fine comfort within”.

So if we must, let us send not only military intervention but also moral intervention.
Giving one and living the others is a gift of sorrow.

Nigeria must first stand on a sound and solid moral pedestal before leading Ecowas into military intervention in Niger Republic.
