Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Degema Local Government Area and Executive Director, Marine Operations, Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, Dr. Sokonte H. Davies, says Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has several reasons to be afraid.
Speaking in Degema during the APC L.G.A congress on May 20, 2018, he sounded a note of warning to Wike, who he said had allegedly embezzled billions of naira, to be prepared for the day of reckoning, which according to him is very near.
His word, ‘Some members of our party, in conjunction and collusion with the frustrated, chickened, intimidated opposition, which says it is the state government, the party of the state government decided to stop us and of course if I had performed the way they had performed, I would be afraid.
‘If I had performed that woefully, irrespective of the amount of resources that have come into the treasury of the state government that have been mismanaged by Governor Wike, I should be afraid of a viral opposition being mounted by the APC in Rivers State.
‘So, I don’t blame them. When you fail, you fear. You know now, when the term is ending and they want to call results, those who didn’t do well will be afraid.
‘The time to call result is near, so he is afraid. I don’t blame him. What Wike can not do is to stop the tide. He can not stop the moving train. Rivers state people, I will not say that they have become wiser, even before they were wise, but they were made to put Wike in government under gunshot.
‘At least! At least!! At least!!! If nobody noticed it, those of us in Degema Local Government Area know for sure. We faced the bullets! We faced the bullets so that Wike could be made governor.
‘Now, no bullet would be shot for him. So he is afraid. I know part of his fear is that he knows for sure that at the end of his tenure Kirikiri awaits him. He will account for the billions of Naira he has received from the Federal Government, he would account for the billions of Naira he has taken as loan. Rivers people will ask him and he will answer’.
