Ekpeye Youths Condemn The Killing of Victor Ochoma By Soldiers

The President General of Ekpeye Youth Congress Comrade Ogboka Chris Umeda has petitioned the chief of Army staff Lt Gen Tukur Buratai over the killing of one of their member, Victor Ochoma, by men of the Nigerian Army at Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The President General of Ekpeye Youths, who wrote the petition said it was totally wrong and unacceptable for the extra judicial killing by the soldiers whose duty was to protect lives and property, on the allegation that he stole iron rod belonging to a construction company.

Umeda said it was unacceptable as the police is there to carry out investigation about the alleged crime committed by the deceased rather than resort to self help.

He called  on Buratai, the General Officer Commanding the 6 division Nigerian Army and  Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, to carry out thorough investigation to enable them bring the culprit to book.

It would be recalled that the Army men who had beaten the young man from Igbu Ehuda (Ahoada clan) to death in Ahoada East, are attached to Rodnap Construction, a company handling the construction of Ahoada/Odiemerenyi/Ihugbogo road.
