The Police has taken over the premises of the Edo State  House of Assembly on Monday.  This action according to the Police Public Relation Officer , Mr Abiodun Osifo was taken to avoid the recurrence of what happened  last Wednesday at the complex , when 16 members of the assembly removed the Speaker , Mr Victor Edoro, and replaced him with Mrs Elizabeth Ativie.  Suspected thugs loyal to both sides had taken over the complex , which led to a gun battle.  About 10 Hilux patrol vans and an Armoured Personnel Carrier have been strategically positioned within and around the complex, with regular and mobile police operatives positioned at the three entrances to the complex.
