Disappearance of youth triggers protest in Rivers State

The mysterious disappearance of Hanson Chukwu, a native of Rundele Community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, has led to a protest by his kinsmen. The protesters stormed the Rivers State Police Command and the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex, along Moscow Road, in Port Harcourt, the state capital, to demand for urgent and thorough Investigation into Chukwu’s disappearance.

The protest letter signed by Charles Enyaa and Ekerem Unity, revealed that Chukwu disappeared on January 26, and accused the local vigilante group of harassment and intimidation. They called on relevant authorities to urgently intervene. On his part, Chukwu’s elder brother, Friday Chukwu, said their mother who had been in coma following the sudden disappearance of her son, has died.
