The lesbian daughter of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu has confirmed her decision to quit preaching in the Anglican Church after marrying a woman.
Tutu-Van Furth who had been stationed at Saldanha Bay on the Cape West Coast, says she has decided to surrender her ministerial duties because the South African Anglican Church does not recognise same-sex marriages. Adding that her licence to preach is being revoked.
She and her partner, Marceline van Furth, are on honeymoon in Bali after their wedding at Franschhoek in the Boland.
The couple has four adopted children.
