Church honours Degema Vice Chairman, Councillor, Chief of Staff, Chief Press Secretary, Chief Security Adviser

The First African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, Obuama, Kalabari District, in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, has honored the Degema Vice Chairman, Mrs. Ibimina Igoni Jaja, and four others on November 3.

Making the presentation of a life sized portrait, and Bible, the Bishop’s Admin Assistant, RNC, Rev Umor Olu PhD, DD, tasked the Vice Chairman to be a pillar of support to the Chairman and render selfless service to the people of Degema.

Others who were honored include the Councillor representing Obuama Ward 14, Tamunoemi Ombo Harry, the Chief of Staff, Amabara Ekine, the Chief Press Secretary, Gloria Boma Harry, and the Chief Security Adviser, Banimibofori Dawari. They were also presented with portraits.

The presentation of gifts coincided with the Adult Annual Thanksgiving/fundraising of N50 million for school building project phase 111, under the Distinguished Chairmanship of the Managing Director, Niger Delta Basin Development Authority, Chief Prince Ebitimi Angbare.

During his sermon at harvet with the theme: Harvest for divine favour, Rev Olu charged the congregation to show gratitude to God for the blessings received and always thrive to go the extra miles while performing any tasks or duties assigned to them.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Harvest planning Committee and Chairman Obuama Council of Chiefs, Alabo Engr. Obomate Rowland Jim Tom Big Harry (Jim 111), called on the congregation to support the Harvest, with the conviction that their is a sure reward for those who utilize their resources for the things of God.

The church service climaxed with the unveiling, and cutting of the harvest cake, the conduct of the Harvest rally between the men and women and the fundraising for the construction of the School building.

On his part, the Royal father of the day and Alabo Edi Abali 1 of Kalabari, Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo, offered gratitude to God in a special Thanksgiving for the successful celebration of his first year anniversary on the Royal ancestral throne, that has been without an occupant for decades.

Other dignitaries who attended the service included, the Chairman of Degema Local Government Area, Dr. Agiriye Monima Harry, Chairman Daar 3 cluster Board, Hon. Mpaka Botoye, Amanyanabo of Okpo, HRH King Dr. Diamond E. Tobin West, Alabota Caroline Asari Dokubo, Alabota Hauwa Asari Dokubo, and Alabo Daso Beal, amongst several others.
