Breaking: Wike bars Rivers APC from using state owned facilities for congress

Africa Update has received  unconfirmed reports about a ban on the broadcast of news relating to the State Congress of  the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State, scheduled to hold tomorrow, May 19, 2018.

There are also reports of an order by the State Government to all relevant authorities in charge of state owned facilities, allegedly barring the APC from using such facilities.

State owned facilities affected by this order include  Yakubu Gowon Stadium at Elekahia, the multi-billion Naira world-class Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium at Igwuruta-Ali and Alfred Diete Spiff Sports complex

While media houses affected  are The Tide newspaper, Radio Rivers 99.1 fm and Rivers State Television, RSTV.

A chieftain of the party who spoke on conditions of anonymity confirmed that the congress would hold tomorrow by 10a.m at an undisclosed venue.
