Abuja, Nigeria — The night sky over Nigeria and several other parts of Africa is set to offer a celestial spectacle tonight as a lunar eclipse is expected to occur.
According to scientists, the event is scheduled to begin at approximately 8:00 p.m. Nigerian time and will last for about 83 minutes. During this period, the Earth’s shadow will pass over the moon, creating a reddish-orange hue, a phenomenon often referred to as a “blood moon.”
This rare astronomical event will be visible to millions across the continent, offering a captivating view for stargazers and enthusiasts. The eclipse is a result of the precise alignment of the Sun, Earth, and Moon.
