Renowned Ijaw-born oil and gas entrepreneur and President/Chief Executive Officer of BelemaOil Producing Nigeria Limited, Engr. Tein Jack-Rich, has been honoured in the United States during the celebration marking the 250th anniversary of American independence.

Jack-Rich received the recognition at an awards ceremony held in Washington, D.C., as part of the US 250 commemorative events. The ceremony was organised by Eric Trump and featured an awards segment dedicated to recognising international business partners whose investments and collaborations have contributed significantly to the growth of the United States economy and its corporate sector.

According to the organisers, the honour acknowledges global business leaders who have strengthened commercial ties with American companies through strategic partnerships and investments.

Jack-Rich, whose BelemaOil Producing Nigeria Limited is one of Nigeria’s indigenous energy companies, was recognised for his contributions to fostering international business relationships and promoting investment opportunities involving American enterprises.

A key project highlighted during the recognition is the proposed Belema Sweet Terminal, an ambitious oil export terminal currently under development by BelemaOil in partnership with American companies.

The terminal, located in Kula Community, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, is projected to become one of Africa’s largest crude oil storage and export facilities upon completion. The facility is expected to have the capacity to store and export up to four million barrels of crude oil in a single operation.

Stakeholders believe the project has the potential to transform the Niger Delta into a major hub for oil and gas logistics, creating significant economic and commercial opportunities through increased investment, employment and industrial development.

The collaboration between BelemaOil and its American partners is also expected to deepen bilateral business relations while expanding opportunities for technological exchange and private-sector investment.

The recognition of Jack-Rich has been welcomed by supporters, who described the award as a testament to his growing influence in the global energy industry and his commitment to advancing indigenous participation in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

They further noted that the honour reflects positively on the Ijaw Nation, the Niger Delta and Nigeria, underscoring the increasing global recognition of Nigerian entrepreneurs making meaningful contributions to international commerce and economic development.

The announcement was conveyed in a statement by Ataowaji Victor, who congratulated the BelemaOil chief on the international recognition and wished him continued success in his business and developmental pursuits.
